The Secret of Countess Valerena (1992). A theatrical performance by ERT with Anna Synodinou, Kitty Arseni, Antonis Theodorakopoulos, Mania Techritzoglou, Orestis Divani, Dimitris Tsoutsis. The story takes place in Zakynthos, where the Valeres, a noble family, have fallen into financial ruin, reaching the brink of poverty. Countess Valerena possesses a recipe that is passed down from Valerena to Valerena and cures the "thella" of the eyes. However, the family has fallen into such a downward spiral that the children of the countess pressure her to confess her secret of medicine and sell the recipe to a merchant, in order to avoid ruin.
